- evangeline | noon | anxious -[[ profile | journal ]] tonight will change our lives. Chevalier was used to the beauty of Dubonna. As the eldest prince, the best people of the kingdom would greet him, as though it was a privilege to (he supposed it was) and the finest, most revered people gained regular access to the castle. All in all, the kingdom he would eventually inherit seemed perfect to him. He couldn't have been more proud of his father, or changed anything about his father's rule if he'd wanted to. One day he'd have the opportunity, so part of him wanted to find some flaw that he could better so that the people may one day appreciate him, too. But it wasn't an easy task. Which was part of the reason he'd left his home, without any servants or guards any closer than the outskirts of Numenor, to see this kingdom firsthand.
When Chevy ventured outside of the kingdom, it was disheartening to see the stark contrast, especially in Numenor. As he sat upon the ruins, his thoughts turned to how fragile control really was. This kingdom was the worse case senario for life, as far as Chevalier was concerned. Absently, the prince used a rock to carve a picture of a rudimentary castle into the hard packed dirt from atop the rubble of what he thought was once a building. Halfway through, he shifted, upsetting the balance of the rocks and sending himself tumbing into an uncomfortable pile of sharp rubble.
With a slight groan, the prince pulled himself up and perched atop the rubble anew, examining the scrapes to his hand and tenderly touching the small line of blood rising to the cut upon his left cheek.
Chevalier could say that his injuries were minor. He doubted it'd be viewed as such when he got home. Glancing around among the rubble, he looked in vain for something to clean away the evidence of blood upon his skin. What he expected to find was a mystery. It was doubtful he'd place a cloth upon his skin if he didn't know it's origin. But still, he searched on, moving rubble out of his way as he scanned the devistation for a usable item.
"Oh, I'm so dead.
" The prince murmured to himself.[/blockquote] ✘ chevy

[th][cs=3][rs=3][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500] [bg=b0acab] Evangeline Mishima
Evangeline the evil princess of the land. The nicest of the royal family but still cruel as the rest. The female put on a black cloak and walked out of the castle. She watched as the servants worked in the kingdom. Maybe having them work like this isn't such a good idea, but I can't do a thing about it. Plus with them doing it I don't have to do anything. She thought to herself as she walked passed them, out of the town. Numenor used to be a big kingdom, but once her father took over it seemed to become smaller and smaller. "Maybe it was because nothing is there anymore or something." She walked towards the outskirt that was about two hours away from the rest of the kingdom. She turned behind her, making sure that she wasn't being followed. She took in a deep breath and continued walking forward.
Evangeline continued walking towards the ruins, this was the place she went when she wanted to get away from everybody else. Nobody knew of this place but her. She looked at the rocks, they used to be buildings but that was long ago. As she crossed passed buildings she heard a noise and stopped dead. Is somebody here? Her eyes are searching but not finding. Slowly she takes another step forward, taking a look at the area around her. Nobody is here but me. She made her way towards an old building that was three floors tall. She walked in and slowly walked up the stairs. As she reached the top of the building she stopped and started thinking to herself. It's a real shame, this was such a nice place. Now it's just gone, this place is nothing but a memory. She took in another sigh, looking around and moved forward a few more feet.
She looked out of the building and down below, still seeing nothing different about the place. I miss this place. She wasn't heartless, she was just born in the wrong family. Supposed to be hard and cruel, instead having another side to her, that was soft and kind. She held her hands against the hood of her cloak, still looking around the area, just taking everything in.

- evangeline | noon | surprised -[[ profile | journal ]] tonight will change our lives. After fruitness searching, Chevalier sighed to himself. This was useless. If his mother asked what had happened, he'd just have to hope the truth didn't upset her too badly. Or, perhaps the minor wounds would heal. Speaking of healing... Perhaps the remaining houses would contain an old cup, or some other useful object. Maybe even something simply to spark some survival instinct the prince wasn't sure he had. Sitting here wasn't helping. So he rose from the rubble, moving quietly through what he assumed were once streets.
Well, sort of quietly. It seemed that no matter how carefully he moved, there was always a bit of rubble jutting out where he least expected it. A few quiet 'ows' were soon followed by another tumble.
That was it. Chevalier was done with this useless place, With a scowl, the prince rose from the ground, kicking at a chunk of solid... well, he didn't know what it was, but it was a deep grey, and it traveled farther than he anticipated, ultimately coming to a stop against what remained of a wall. It was while his eyes rose to follow the chunk of mystery solid that his eyes caught a glimpse of the cloaked figure in a nearby window. He knew he was supposed to be a death angel, but she looked a lot more intimidating than he did. His first thought was that she could be a ghost.
This was a creepy place indeed. The prince took several steps back. Unfortunately, he didn't think there was a way for him to fully conceal himself from her view without more obvious movement. Either way, Chevy couldn't pull his gaze away from her long enough to find a suitable hiding place. Where she was higher, it wouldn't be easy, anyway. ✘ chevy

[th][cs=3][rs=3][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500] [bg=b0acab] Evangeline Mishima
Evangeline's eyes closed for the longest time. She thought of this place when she was younger. She used to play here all the time, and this was one of the buildings that she hid in. She almost could see herself playing hide and seek with her older brother. She loved hiding from him, but it didn't matter she was always found one way or another, even if it was her parents that found her. A smile crossed her lips, as she thought of the ruins before when it was just a small town of it's own. The beauty was all gone now, how she wished that it would just come right back. It would never happen though, both her parents and her brother, were different from her. It was hard living in that family, she wanted to rule over this land. She didn't want her older brother to take the throne, she wanted it.
She would make this place better then her parents ever could. Maybe she would still be evil like her parents, maybe not. She liked how she had the people working for her as servants, but she didn't like how the ruins looked. At least the other kingdoms have the beauty, maybe the beauty here would come back with a different ruler. She had other plans for this kingdom, but the first thing to happen was the wars between the other two kingdoms. With her as queen over three she could make the best kingdom ever. She feared the worst if her brother started to rule, he never shared his plans with her. She feared that her brother may follow in her father's steps and continue to keep this kingdom the way it is, how it looks. Dead, nothing new, just servants that work and work till they die.
She opened her eyes, that is when she seen something down below her. "Who is there?" She called down from below. Her voice was deep, hiding the fear that she felt. She didn't know who was there, she didn't know if he had followed her here. "Show yourself!"

- evangeline | noon | curious -[[ profile | journal ]] tonight will change our lives. She couldn't see him? Wasn't that fascinating. Relief flooded through him, relieving the tension that had built up in his body in the brief time he'd spent observing her. But, now the young prince had a choice. Ghost or not, she would eventually see him, wouldn't she? He couldn't run forever, and he didn't know the place as well as a ghost would. Logically, he knew his only sane option was to relinquish what leverage he had as far as the element of surprise.
Taking several steps forward until he was- he assumed- within view of the window, though to the left, he tilted his head and spoke to get the ghost's attention.
"I'm Chevalier.
" She had asked who was there. But he gave his name for an entirely different reason. He gave it so he could ask his next question. " Now, are you a ghost? Because, I think that's something we should establish up front." Chevalier was being completely serious, but based on the playful grin he was using to hide his own anxiety over the possibility, it might not have been entirely obvious. Chevalier felt a little out of place now, standing below the window, gazing up at the ever startling ghost figure. Maybe he'd get lucky and find the ghost couldn't venture from the house to haunt him. Or, maybe she'd haunt him for the rest of his life. Ghosts were no joking matter to him.[/blockquote] ✘ chevy

[th][cs=3][rs=3][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500] [bg=b0acab] Evangeline Mishima
Evangeline looked around and finally seen the male who spoke up from her. Chevalier? I don't know of this name. His question caught her by mistake. "A ghost?" She questions, more to herself then to him. "I'm no ghost." Her eyes looked down at him, trying to figure out who this male was. He must be from here, nobody that is sane would come here if they belonged from another kingdom. She stared down at him and sighed. It seemed that he wanted to see her up front, so up front she would see him. She turned away from the window, slowly walking in the building. Her eyes looked at the walls and she made her way down the stairs. She was in no rush, she was after all here for peace and quiet. If he thinks I'm a ghost, then I shouldn't have to much trouble with him.
She finished crossing the stairs of the third floor and started walking down the second. Who is this guy? What is he doing out here? This is my place... The thoughts kept coming to her. Now on the bottom floor she made her way towards the entrance looking out for the male. "I'm not a ghost." She replied again to him. She wasn't sure if that would be a mistake or not. She turned her back away from him, planning to go back up the stairs. It didn't bother her that she would be walking. "You shouldn't be here, go home, where ever that is." This was after all her place, she didn't want strangers here. "When I get back up those stairs, you better be gone." She finished, the black cloak still hiding her figure from him.

- evangeline | noon | annoyed -[[ profile | journal ]] tonight will change our lives. When she stood before him, he looked almost mesmorized. If this was a ghost and she was lying, he wanted proof. So, with careful movements, he placed his fingertips against her skin- he reached for what he could see of her cheek beyond the cloak. If she was a ghost, he'd go right through her, right? This simple logic was all the reassurance the prince needed.
The order that he should return home wasn't offensive. He should return home. He would have if he wouldn't have noticed her. Actually, more truthfully, if she hadn't noticed him. But what really annoyed the prince was when she put in place a more specific order. Be gone before she got up the stairs? As if. No one bossed him around, especially if they weren't ghosts. Knowing full well she wanted him to move away from the building, he instead waited a few moments for her to get in and up a few stairs before he ducked into the building himself and, as quietly as he could, navigated his own way up the same stairs.
When he reached the room--well after her, whether it was his late start, his need for quiet, or his general disdain for falling over rubble--he found himself still trying to subdue his anger before he spoke.
"So, if you aren't a ghost, who are you?
" The prince quizzed nonchalantly, his arms folded as he now stood, leaning against the wall. " I gave you my name, it's only fair."[/blockquote] ✘ chevy

[th][cs=3][rs=3][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500] [bg=b0acab] Evangeline Mishima
Evangeline was surprised that he dared touch her. She let him feel her flesh, at least now he knew that she wasn't a ghost. She didn't believe in ghosts, they were just an old story told so that children became scared of the dark. She looked right at him, as if waiting to see if he was happy to find out that she wasn't a ghost and would leave finally. She had turned her back on a prince, maybe she would have stopped had she known, maybe not. He was wearing fine clothes, but that didn't mean he was of royal blood. She didn't hear him following after her, she made it to the third floor. Pulls her hood down and headed towards the window again before jumping. There he was, in the room with her. I thought I had told him to leave. How dare he follow me up the stairs.
She glared at him, pulling her hood back up to hide her face. "I told you to leave." She hissed, not planning on telling him anything of the sort. "That is none of your business." She looked over at him with cold eyes. All I wanted was to be alone, and now I have a stalker. This is just perfect. Her eyes looked at him, some rich boy or man dared asking her questions. Dared following her up the stairs. This man has guts to be up here with me. She blinked before deciding what she was going to do. She wasn't going to do anything with him, instead she would just ignore him. Ignoring always seemed to work for her so that was what she would do to him. As if thinking it might help, she dashed for the stairs, hoping to get down them before he had thoughts of possibly stopping her.

" Chevalier warned. " And your name is none of my business?" The idea was a novel one. Already this girl had him up in arms. Maybe it was her beauty coupled with the fact that she didn't have an instant interest in him, or maybe it was simply that she had tried bossing him around. Whatever it was, he wasn't happy about it. When she began her quick dash for the stairs, he placed his arm across the nearby doorway, tilting his head slightly to the left. " What's your hurry?" The prince challenged. Evangeline glared at him, she may be bossy but she wasn't one for being around others. It seemed that she had pissed him off. Well good, serves him right. She thought to herself. It wasn't till she seen his arm across the stairs that it became another matter. As she was running towards the door she decided that she might as well answer him. "I don't have to tell you anything of the sort." She wasn't going to tell him anything, she didn't have to. It was her right to keep her name all to herself. She had thoughts rushing to her mind as she made it closer and closer to the door. Thinking of what she would be doing once she made it out. Or where she would be going for that matter. Thoughts kept coming and she continued for the stairs anyway. There is no way in hell that I'm going to be forced in this room.
As she made it towards the door she prepared to duck. More thoughts rushing through her mind. I'll never share my name with him. I'll never share my name with anybody. She came up close against the door and her head went down first, making it under his arm. I'm going to make it, I think I'm going to the market once I get back. I think I've had enough of the ruins. There is no way in hell I want to be around this guy, out of all of them. All seemed like she had won, but then again that it what it had seemed.

- evangeline | noon | determined -[[ profile | journal ]] tonight will change our lives. When she kept running despite his arm being there, Chevalier raised an eyebrow. Mild amusement lit his features, but his stance didn't change at all. If she wanted to run right into him, so be it. It wouldn't hurt him that badly and it might calm her down enough to get her name, so, he would tolerate it.
Except that wasn't what she did at all. Chevalier blinked, losing precious seconds as she ducked under his arm. Only seconds were lost, though, providing him with the time to throw his body into an arc so that he was in the doorway, his hand reaching out to grasp at her cloak. What was she, five?
... Well, he was playing too. What did that make him? He wasn't sure why he was trying to stop her or why he even cared what her name was. It wasn't like he had any reason to think he'd ever run across her again. He tried to tell himself he didn't want to, anyway. But she seemed to be pushing the right buttons to get his reaction.
"Come on! All I want is your name! Next time that'll be question one, I won't even care if you're really a ghost.
" Chevalier offered, trying to reason with her. " I'll buy you chocolate- or, well, I'll buy you something! A bribe. How's that? Or, uh, money? Evangeline was stopped, pulled back from the grip he had on her cloak. Again she was standing face to face with him. In the room again with him blocking her way. She couldn't have but smile at him, but again wasn't going to give him her name. "You want my name all that badly huh?" What is a fast name I can give to him? His name is Chevalier, so I'll claim I am Chevy. "My name is Chevy." She gave him a straight face, he was still holding on her cloak. There was only one more option she had if she wanted to get away with her name. That window was the only way, and she was willing to climb down it if she meant keeping her name all to herself. She untied the cloak string that held it against her body, it fell off of her and she headed straight for the window, planning her last chance of escape.
It didn't matter if he had seen her clothes, it didn't prove she was a princess, all it proved was that she had money just like him. If anybody knew that the princess was out and about by herself she wouldn't hear the end of it. She was also valuable because of her royal status. She made her way towards the window, long way down, all it took was a change to climb down before he had a chance to grab her. She thought about her way down, no longer paying attention to the male that might have finally figured out she had given him a false name and was escaping before his eyes.

- evangeline | noon | persistent -[[ profile | journal ]] tonight will change our lives. Her name was Chevy? Annoyance etched into the once scerene expression of the prince. No, it wasn't, and that wasn't funny. Maybe he should let the ghost girl go. His eyes drifted to the cloak as it fell to the floor before, realizing he couldn't bear the thought of losing this far into the game, the prince made a dash of his own,grabbing the girl by the waist once she was atop the window pane in the hopes that she wouldn't have anything to grasp onto as he tried to hoist her back into the room.
This time he knew better. This time he moved Evangeline against the wall. His annoyance still present, he pinned her, using both of his hands and the weight of his body to keep her still.

Evangeline had almost started climbing down the window as she was pulled away from it. She didn't have anything to grab onto, so she was dragged back into the room. Her eyes looked at him, fear finally showing in her eyes slightly. She blinked and it was gone again. She tried struggling to get out of his grip, it was no use though because his weight was to strong to push away. He is a Lafraniere? Like prince? Or somebody from the royal line? It looks like I messed around with the wrong royal, what is a royal doing in my lands? She was confused now, he was in her land and he should be in his own kingdom. He wanted answers from her, he wanted her name. She had a feeling that he would keep up with that question till he got it. Might as well. Maybe if I tell him the true this time I can get away before he wants a last name.
Evangeline swallowed and finally spoke up herself. "My name is Evangeline." It was what he gave her when she had him show himself. She didn't ask for his last name, he gave it up freely. She also wasn't about to ask what a royal from another kingdom was doing in the ruins of her kingdom. She again struggled trying to get out of his grip. He had promised that she had to give a name and she could leave. Hopefully he is going to keep his word because if he wants more then my first name I might just kick him in the balls. The thought was there but she wasn't all that sure if she was going to play on it. She looked into the male's eyes, something about those blue eyes made her think that he was more then just a royal, like he might have been a son a prince. She said nothing though, the less she brought up, the likely she could leave.
"Can I go now? I gave you my name?" Sure it was just a first name but what ever. She thought to herself, waiting on his next move.

- evangeline | noon | quizzical -[[ profile | journal ]] tonight will change our lives. Whether it was her name or not, at least he had something to call her. Chevalier smiled. Good enough. He wasn't looking for a last name or any telling details. So long as she was here with him, he was fairly certain he would tolerate anything she threw his way short of leaving without him.
"Thank you, Evangeline. It's a pleasure to meet you.
" Chevalier replied calmly." Now, that wasn't that bad. You could have just told me from the start." Instead of letting her go as she asked, he shook his head. He actually liked her current position, though he didn't think saying so was a very good idea on his part. He was still a prince, and she could still bring claims against him that would reflect negatively on him. " No, actually," Chevalier grinned, " I'm pretty comfortable right now, and I don't want you to run away yet." Maybe that was a little too honest, but he felt that he had enough control over the situation to warrant it. But she was far too beautiful to be in such a sorrow filled place. In a garden, or even a field, maybe. " If I let you go, would you consider staying?" Chevalier questioned.
